As a former oncology nurse, Holly knew that the scalps of children who lost their hair from chemo were usually too sensitive for a traditional wig. So, when her friend's three-year-old daughter was diagnosed with cancer, Holly made her a Rapunzel-like wig from a soft yarn, accented with faux flowers. The child was delighted! This inspired Holly, along with other volunteers to launch the "Magic Yarn Project", where they create princess wigs from The Little Mermaid, Frozen, and more. They also create some based on Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean. The Magic Yarn Project has sent more than 1,900 wigs to kids, at no cost to their parents. Way to go Holly!
