Cozy Up with This Healthy & Delicious Fall/Winter Recipe that Will Warm Your Heart and Your Tummy!

Sweet & Savory Chili

2 tsp. olive oil

1 cup diced onion

1 pound ground sirloin

or ground turkey

3 garlic cloves minced

1 jalapeno seeded and chopped

1 cup cubed butternut squash

1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1/4 tsp. coriander

4 tsp. chili powder

1/4 tsp. chipotle chili powder

1 - 2 tsp. salt

1 tbsp. dark brown sugar

1/2 cup chicken broth

1 cup apple cider

1/2 cup pumpkin puree

1 15.5 ounce can kidney beans

1 14.5 ounce can diced tomatoes


1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.

2. Add the onion, ground sirloin or turkey, garlic and jalapeno.

Sautee until the meat is browned and cooked through (about 5 minutes).

3. Add the butternut squash, cinnamon, coriander, chili powder, and chipotle powder.

Cook until the butternut squash starts to soften (about 2-3 minutes).

4. Add the chicken broth, apple cider, pumpkin puree, kidney beans and diced tomato.

Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer. Continue to cook until the butternut squash is soft.

Add salt to taste.

5. Serve with a dollop of sour cream or Greek yogurt on top and freshly chopped parsley.
